Q: I want to grow tomatoes on my terrace garden in delhi. previous experience has been sad. I want high yield variety less prone to disease and manure/soil suggestion

A: Hi Paramjit! Thank you for your query. Yes, it is difficult to grow tomatoes in terrace, specially in the extreme heat of Delhi. Luckily, we have "High Yield Tomato" seeds, available in 2 gm, 10 gm and 100 gm packs. These tomatoes are drought tolerant, disease resistant and give better yield than other kinds of tomatoes. Start your seeds in a cool, shaded location and water it daily. Then after about 4-6 weeks, transplant tomato seedling into larger containers (at least 14 inches wide), as they don't dry up quickly. Also, place your plants in semi-shade location if possible, where it receives 3-4 hours of sunlight. An ideal potting mix contains equal parts of soil, vericompost/manure, and cocopeat (to keep the soil loose, and allow better drainage). Both Vermi compost and Coco Peat are available on our website.
