Q: Hi, Am from Cochin, the emerging metropolis in Kerala, I'd brought Cosmos Mix, coreopsis n verbena, Was very happy to see verbena n coreopsis sprouting and growing well, but highly disheartened about Cosmos- none of the seeds sprouted, i sow the seeds in 3 different pots, in different weeks, but none of them ever grew. @Greenmylife, i expect a reply/reasoning from you on this. If certain plants are not suitable for specific regions, please mention it during purchase. What can be done with my Cosmos? i ve few more seeds in the packet.

A: Hi Nashiya. Thank you for your query. Being avid nature-lovers ourselves, we too are extremely sorry to hear that your Cosmos seeds didn't sprout. Cosmos seeds are well-suited for growing in a variety of climates, ranging from Kashmir to Kerala. In fact, we have some pretty cosmos plants growing happily in our office located in Bangalore. Certain things to keep in mind while starting seeds: - Plant the seeds about 1-inch deep and cover it up with soil. - a healthy soil mix, best suited for starting healthy seeds, is comprised of regular soil+coco peat+organic manure like vermi compost- all mixed together in equal quantity. - place your container outdoors in a shaded spot, where it receives 2 to 3 hours of filtered sunlight. - keep the soil moist, but not soggy, at all times. Sprinkle the water gently over the soil with your fingers, rather than throwing watering with force. Since the pot is in shade, you will need to water them just once every morning, during the present winter season. The seeds should start sprouting within a week's time. With best wishes, I hope your seeds will grow successfully this time. Kindly let us know your progress. Thanks.
