Good landscaping companies carry their checklist and will ask you various questions before they give you a plan for your garden. If you are going to do it yourself, then these are the ideal list of questions that you should have answers to so that you have a clear idea of what you want.
- What is the garden used for?
To answer this question you will need to list down the people using the garden space – family members etc. Do you use the garden to sit around, entertain guests(how many at one time), play outdoor games, have your breakfast in at times? List down the activities so that you know what elements you would need to incorporate in the garden. For example, if you have kids who use the garden to play around a lot then you might need to have a small play area for them. If you have your breakfast if the garden or you entertain guests, you might need to make seating arrangements in the garden.
- What is the mood that you want for your garden?
The design of your garden, colors used, elements incorporated etc will all depend on the mood that you want for your garden. These are some of the moods that you can have for your garden – you would have to choose one of them. The elements that constitute the moods are also described alongside.
